Genesis Awarded Protective Coating Project by City of Independence

Indepedence BasinGenesis Environmental Solutions, Inc. was awarded a $493,000 project by the City of Independence to provide a protective coating system replacement on the interior and exterior surfaces of the Settling Basin #1, associated equipment, and structures.

The scope of work included demolition and disposal of the obsolete flocculator steel and removal of the filon panels for full access of the support steel. GES as then required to abrasive blast to a SSPC SP-10, all interior surfaces and application of a zinc/2 coat epoxy system. The exterior required abrasive blasting to a SSPC SP-6 and application of a zinc/epoxy/urethane system. After completion of the lining system, GES re-installed new filon panels.

GES self-performed all the work including demolition of the flocculator steel, demolition and reinstallation of the filon panels and the preparation and painting.
